TI – There’s some research that suggests that DVR households actually watch less TV than non-DVR households. I can tell you for sure that I spend less time watching what I want to watch.

I think the reality is that you can watch what you want and discard what you don’t want to watch…namely the endless stream of advertisements and commercials. So I think the question is what is the definition of “more”. The number of hours spent or the amount of actual programming? I can almost watch 4 1/2 hour sitcoms in about 1 hour or so. I get to watch 4 programs in the amount that it used to take me to watch only 2. So although I “feel” like I have watched 2 hours of television, I have only spent half the time to watch it. I personally watch more programs than I could before with the added convenience of watching them whenever I want to. Now as soon as I start slingboxing I will be able to watch wherever I want, as well. By combining technologies…Life is good!

“As soon as you start SlingBoxing.” With what? That Treo 650 you refuse to do away with.

Hey, don’t think I am just settling for any old phone with a few cool features. Like my Mother used to say…”A handful of patience is worth more than a bushel of brains”. I am just not rushing into anything. We all know that Aug/Sept. is the time for major technology announcements, as well. Let’s see what gets introduced. Just because I am not settling for that garage door opener looking thing that you have, doesn’t mean I am not doing my homework!
