Not real interested in skinning my current device, but I did download an application called Contact Manager that allows me to do a iPhone “finger scroll” through my contact list. Actually, it works pretty good! Ahhhh, the power of open operating systems that allow third party applications….. Oh yeah, iPhone doesn’t offer this flexibility. Imagine having to go order a new car and there were no options to choose from to fit your needs or personal taste!

As most of you PTIers can tell, I am an old school sort of guy. I really like the songs from my era because the lyrics were good and the songs had a message! That’s why I am often reminded of old song lyrics when Fast Follower gets on his soapbox! There was an old Earth Wind and Fire tune in the 80’s that reminds me of iPhone. I have changed some of the lyrics to make it fit the iPhone situation. Want to hear it? Here it goes (After the Love is Gone by EWF);

….Somethin happened along the way
What used to be happy was sad
Somethin happened along the way
And yesterday was all we had
And oh after the hype has gone
How could you lead me on
And not let me stay around

Oh oh oh after the hype has gone
What used to be right is wrong
Can hype thats lost be found

All I am saying PTIers is that iPhone fell a little short of the hype. And I can’t type! The proof will be in the pudding after the marketing campaign dies down and consumers start to purchase the product based on its merit and delivery!

Not sure, mike. I never really was interested in skinning my 6700. However I did successfully install iContacts which gives the touch scroll function when browsing contacts. That has really the only function that I wanted. But to be honest, after the novelty wore off, I found that I liked the thumb stick on the ppc 6700 better. Sorry I couldn’t be of more assistance. Maybe a fellow PTIer will chime in with some advice.

Take care.

Search for “S2U2”, “PocketCM”, “iPhone.cab”. Be sure to also get google maps, the single most useful and well-written app for any of these pda phones!

I almost never comment, however after browsing through a great deal
of comments on Turn Your Windows Mobile Machine into an iPhone | Pardon the Interaction.
I actually do have a couple of questions for you if it’s allright. Is it just me or does it look as if like some of the comments appear like they are left by brain dead people? 😛 And, if you are posting on additional social sites, I’d like to
follow anything new you have to post. Could you
post a list of all of all your social networking sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page or
linkedin profile?
