Getting Close to the Apple Mac Purchase Decision September 13, 2006

TI – Unless you or one of our readers can convince me otherwise, I’m getting really close to a Mac purchase over a PC purchase.  I’m still not sure if it will be a an iMac or a Mac laptop.  But I’m almost sure it’ll be a Mac.

Did you check out the Apple iTV that will be available in January? Or the new iTunes with full movie download capability?  Of course, both of these things items can be used with a PC as well.  But what about the new $999 price on the entry iMac, or the the $1499 price on the 20 inch iMac?  I might even do a $799 Mac Mini since I already own a nice 17 inch monitor with keyboard and mouse.

Well, there’s a new monkey wrench thrown into the beautiful logic of my original Mac post: Through my employer, I can get up to 30% off on a Dell. That’s a whole lotta discount on a pretty good desktop or laptop. Someone once told me to never let principle (or lust) get in the way of a good deal. What’s a Fast Follower to do?

Well, you have to look at what you are getting for the money. I can’t help you on this one, cause I don’t have any experience with Apple Stuff! Go with the 30%. discount and get some extras that you will use. Face it. Microsoft ain’t goin nowhere!. By the way, I just made this comment using my daughter’s new tablet. I am inputting using the handwriting feature Does Dell have any deals on tablets? Let me Know.

Dear Fast. I bought the first Apple computer that came out, and use a MacBook Pro today. I use PCs sometimes when I don’t have any choice. It’s too bad that the market is changing so fast. Soon, we Mac users will have to worry about viruses, too. Otherwise, why is Microsoft coming out with an ipod look alike if they are so very innovative. Bill Gates is the Henry Ford of the information age, and how many guys do you know that want to own a Ford truck, if they have a choice? http://www.gnuzworks.com

Yea, I hear ‘ya. My biggest problem is knowing that the Mac is clearly a better system, but knowing I can get a whole “lotta computer” for the money by going with a PC (particularly with my employer’s discount from Dell). As you can see, this is a very tough decision for me by the way I continue to change my mind.
